In Dataflow Gen2 UI, configuring the transformations and settings of a query happens in the Query Settings pane. This pane is where you name the query, adjust load and privacy options, and manage the sequence of transformations through the Applied Steps list. Each step reflects a transformation you've added on the Query Development canvas, so this pane ties together the design you create visually with the actual behavior of the query. The Data Preview pane shows the data as you apply steps, which helps you validate results, but it doesn’t configure the query. The Power Query ribbon provides editing commands, not the per-query configuration area.
